I wish my 70 has a strait body like that. Also the uneven hood line shows the car to be all original and correct. Not one Cougar came off the assembly line with a perfect front hood line. I love your car. Only issue is that vinal top. Bad rust issues usually happen there.

Thanks!!
It's not a stroker kinda wished I went that route but its the original drive gear to the car, my dad bought it brand new and I didn't want to take that route. Hindsight I could've picked up another block and shelved this one. Next car I do will have a stroker C in it for sure ;)

I thought long about vinyl or not and I like the look of it on certain cars, I like it better on the Cougar. Oddly though this car has seen many years non-garaged in the Canadian praries facing extreme cold/snowy winters and hot muggy summers always with a vinyl top and it didn't have any rust underneath. That said, the rear quarters were shot due to salt on the roads during the winters.

Vinyl tops with all car manufactures were put on to hide roof and pillar defects. they were not really a special option but really put on to cover up factory mess ups so they can still sell the car. Like you, i like the look of the Cougar with vinyl tops, just would not own one. Everyday I would be tempted to rip it off to see whats under it.
