Hey guys, yes I'm still here. This project was supposed to be a 'quickie' and cheap as possible...it has been anything but that. The engine is finally finished, RAM clutch assembly is here and now I just need to put it together. Due to the frame rail being so close to the filter mounting pad I had an oil filter adapter made by a local machine shop. I was going to use a short Mopar filter like a Wix 51085, but this adapter will open up my filter options a little bit and allow me to use a Motorcraft FL820-S, a Wix 51372 or Moroso 22463. According to the Wix website the 51372 is the same dimensions as the 51085 but flows more oil. I could have gotten an adapter from TMeyer or Blue Thunder but that would have required a taller filter, exactly what I didn't need. Not to mention the flow and micron specs are a little more in line with the filters I mentioned.

Spring is here. Any updates?

Whew, has it been a while. What was supposed to be a quick, cheap build for laughs turned into a nightmare and finally after all this time (and another divorce...seriously) the Pinto 351c High Port runs! Just fired it up last week and things went well. I may try to test it at the track before the year is out but I'll have to rush.

I'd like to post some more pics but when I try to upload some, I get a message saying something is full? That's a shame as a friend has some 351c High Port heads he'd like to sell. The heads are from an older gentleman who had them on a dirt car and he said they were from Bud Moore? I have no way of proving this but one strange thing about them is...the exhaust plates are not aluminum, they're steel.
